"SA KANDUNGAN NG LANGIT" (Heaven's Cradle)

Inspired by a true story, "SA KANDUNGAN NG LANGIT" is a powerful and emotional journey of a man, JOJI, in his search for the true essence of love and forgiveness.

On his way to do a documentary shortfilm, Joji was waylaid by a couple of robbers and was rescued by Gimo, a leper. Gimo leads him to Bethesda, the much dreaded "leper village". A name crudely carved on a tree trunk arouses Joji's curiosity. Liway's story unfolds - a young girl who contracted leprosy and was disowned by her father (Domeng) and sister (Sol). Her brother, Caloy was the only family who saved Liway from her stepmother (Celing) and brother-in-law's (Damian) evil ploy. Caloy accidentally killed one of Damian's cohorts. Liway blamed God for this series of misfortunes. She mysteriously disappeared and Caloy was sentenced to serve in jail for many years.

When Joji finally meets Liway in Bethesda, he is amazed at how this woman has learned to forgive people who have wronged her. It is also in Bethesda that Joji finds his long lost fiancée, Lani, who has been searching for a mother believed to have hied off to a leprosarium.

As Joji leaves Bethesda, he begins to realize that there's a leper in every man-a soul that continues to rot because of a Godless life. He is confronted with a bitter past and a relationship he will have to repair before his father dies. Liway's transformed life has changed one man's destiny.
